PLEASE NOTE that WIVES AND DAUGHTERS: THE WOMEN OF SIXTEENTH CENTURY ENGLAND was published in 1984. This book is now out of print. It is also outdated. Research for it was done in 1977-80, before the Internet. Many older reference books are now available electronically. A huge number of new reference books have also been published since 1980.
